Milan, July 23rd, 2025: GLP Europe, a leading business builder, owner, developer, and operator of logistics real estate, now part of Ares Management Real Estate (“Ares”), announces the acquisition of a 70,000 SQM plot of land in Gropello Cairoli, near Milan.

The site will accommodate the development of a 37,000 SQM logistics warehouse to be named G-Park Gropello. Building permission has been granted and construction commenced in April 2025, with completion expected by the end of January 2026.

G-Park Gropello is strategically located along the A7 motorway, providing direct access to north-west Italy and Genoa. The first customer has already signed a lease for 20,000 SQM – leaving 17,000 SQM available.

The building is anticipated to be constructed in accordance with BREEAM Excellent certification standards, incorporating a photovoltaic solar roof, charging points for electric vehicles, and a Building Management System to monitor energy use in real time. Other features will include insulated facades and roofs to improve energy efficiency, skylights to maximise natural light, and a rainwater harvesting system for non-potable use. Additionally, the development will incorporate recycled and recyclable materials.

Marco Belli, Managing Director, GLP Italy said

“The acquisition of this land and the construction of our new logistics facility further strengthens our growing presence in southern Milan, an area in which there is strong demand for quality industrial space. G-Park Gropello’s position near the A7 motorway offers an alternative route to traditional logistics corridors and has already attracted interest from major third-party logistics providers. We are also delighted to have secured our first customer in the building before construction starts.”
