GLP Clean Energy at Expo Real 2024

Our GLP Clean Energy team will be at the show to discuss more about our plans for the future and how we’re supporting the transition to renewable energy. 

GLP is supporting the renewable infrastructure transition globally, launching a number of initiatives to help pursue sustainable development including onsite solar on our global logistics real estate portfolio, coupled with battery storage and depot charging for electric vehicles.

Across the world, GLP has 890 Megawatts (MW) of installed renewable energy capacity which can generate approximately 540 Gigawatt hours (GWh) annually and significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

We take our responsibilities for the environment seriously, but we also understand that sometimes there has to be compromise. We know that this brings with it a cost, with flights, other transport and the build of our EXPO stand creating an unavoidable carbon footprint. That‘s why we are taking steps to carbon off set our participation at this year‘s EXPO Real as much as possible.​

We want to be responsible, saving energy where we can, offsetting our carbon for the show and sourcing locally produced items for our expo stand and consumables wherever we can.​

All travel and accommodation booked for this show will be offset through the planting of biodiverse rainforest in Panama, a programme that focuses on reforesting degraded land and developing sustainable timber production. The resulting forest spaces offer a natural habitat for native animals and plants, fostering rich biodiversity, whilst also providing environmental education and long-term employment with fair working conditions to locals who assist with the project. The investment in this project aligns with GLP EU ESG policy focused on targeting UN SDG goals 8 (Decent work and economic growth), 12 (Responsible consumption and production), 13 (Climate action) & 15 (Life on Land).
