GLP, the leading global business builder in logistics, digital infrastructure, renewable energy and related technologies, today held the official inauguration ceremony for G-Park Colleferro, a new Grade A logistics building located in Colleferro (RM).
This marks a significant milestone as G-Park Colleferro is the first GLP development to be completed in Italy, with a total leasable area of 23,500 SQM, of which 22,700 SQM is warehouse space and 800 SQM is for offices. The building is equipped with 25 loading areas and parking space for 85 cars.
The site’s location is strategic, positioned in close proximity to the Roman consumer market and with easy access to the entire southern part of the country. The area benefits from an excellent road system, with direct access to the A1 motorway, as well as air and water connections guaranteed by Rome Fiumicino airport – the most important in Italy – Ciampino airport and the port of Civitavecchia.
G-Park Colleferro was built according to the best environmental standards and has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification. Over 400 trees are planted around the site, in order to respect and encourage biodiversity in the surrounding area, as well as providing an outdoor relaxation space. GLP has also installed charging stations for electric cars and bicycles. With a view to ensuring maximum sustainability, water and energy consumption monitoring systems have been incorporated to reduce the building’s carbon footprint and waste.
Marco Belli, Country Director of GLP Italia, commented: “G-Park Colleferro represents the highest standard in the world of logistics, which is constantly looking for modern, quality warehouse space, located in strategic areas and able to guarantee the highest ESG standards. The planting of trees, monitoring of energy consumption and respect for biodiversity are all proactive choices that GLP has made to make the warehouse as sustainable as possible and integrated it with the surrounding area, as well as making it welcoming for those who will work there every day.”
The official inauguration ceremony of the building was also attended by the Mayor of Colleferro, Pierluigi Sanna. A volleyball tournament, the “Volley Logistics Cup”, was also organised, which saw the teams of GLP, Kontractor (the General Contractor of the building) and the Crescendo Insieme Association (which deals with disability and social inclusion) take part in a charity competition, followed by a celebratory dinner offered to the local community.
