GLP today announced that it has acquired a new Grade A logistics asset totaling 28,000 SQM in Fiorenzuola d’Arda. The warehouse is situated in the south-east of the Piacenza province, one of the largest Greater Milan sub-markets. The building, which is brand new, was recently built by the seller, E2K, a leading general contractor company in the Italian logistics market.

Greater Piacenza is considered the heart of the Italian logistics market, with more than 20% of the total national stock. Given its strategic position, the Greater Piacenza area is one of the prime logistics locations of the whole country, able to attract the main national and international operators and investors. The asset has excellent accessibility from the Fiorenzuola tollgate on the A1/E35 motorway (2km), which is the main highway connecting Northern and Southern Italy.

The asset is certified BREEAM Very Good and has been built to satisfy GLP’s high standards in terms of sustainability. It is equipped with rainwater recovery systems and construction has been completed with close attention paid to the reduction and recovery of raw materials. The site also offers outdoor relaxation areas and is surrounded by woods.

Marco Belli, Country Director of GLP Italy, commented: “We are proud to announce this off-market acquisition. With this asset, our current portfolio in Italy has reached 630,000 SQM. Piacenza is one of the best locations near Milan – the most consolidated logistics market in Italy – and this acquisition establishes our presence in the area. We are delighted to add another high-quality logistics location to our portfolio to attract further top-tier companies to our customer base. This is an important acquisition for us, showing our desire to be active in the market and to position ourselves as a strong, reliable partner.”

GLP was supported in this acquisition by DILS, acting as commercial advisor, Gattai Minoli & Partners as legal and tax advisor, and XBT as technical advisor.
