GLP, the leading global business builder, owner, developer and operator of logistics real estate, data centres, renewable energy and related technologies, has signed a first lease agreement with a leading national logistics, transportation and freight forwarding company. The work on a new built-to-suit logistics warehouse by GLP in Filago, located in the province of Bergamo is now underway.
The first company to occupy the building will take up 25,000 SQM, amounting to about 50% of the total leasable area, which is circa. 51,500 SQM offering 62 double-fronted loading bays and 250 parking spaces for cars and trucks. The site is strategically located, just 2.5 km from the A4 Capriate highway tollbooth and 15 km from the A58 TEEM highway, allowing easy access not only to Milan (just 30 km away) and the airports of Orio al Serio (18 km away) and Linate (37 km away), but also to all areas of northern Italy and the main route of the A1 highway, a logistics hub of particular importance for the country.
The building will be certified “BREEAM Excellent for New Construction protocol” – an important achievement, meeting the highest standard of sustainability in its design and construction, testifying to GLP’s commitment to go above and beyond the industry standard of BREEAM In-Use certification. Additionally, the building enhances the use of sustainable energy, with the inclusion of a roof prepared for photovoltaic solar power and charging points for electric vehicles. The building also includes a number of energy-saving measures, such as highly insulated facades and roofs, a smart Building Management System and meters to monitor utilities.
In order to minimise environmental impact as much as possible, a large area has been kept as forest to protect the nearby Dordo Municipal Park. In addition, the project includes two tree planting areas for environmental mitigation, covering an area of more than 7,000 SQM.
