GLP builds a multi-story parking facility for Amazon in Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel)

Frankfurt, 07 September 2021 – GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, is to build a four-story parking facility for its customer Amazon in Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel).

The car park will offer more than 700 parking spaces for vans over four levels. It is being built directly alongside the existing Amazon distribution centre. Construction has already begun, and is scheduled for completion in early 2022.

Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) is located to the south-west of Berlin, directly on the A10 Berlin motorway ring. This gives it a direct connection to the A9 (Berlin-Leipzig) and A24 (Berlin-Hamburg) motorways, with the A2 (Berlin-Hanover) motorway only seven minutes away. The facility is located 14 kilometres from Potsdam and 30 kilometres from Berlin. It is 157 kilometres from Leipzig, 236 kilometres from Hanover and 280 kilometres from Hamburg.

Patrick Frank, Country Director Germany, GLP commented, “Amazon’s decision to expand its presence at Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) just two years after moving to the site in 2019, underscores the importance of this location in the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region. Our facility is in one of the most economically dynamic regions in Europe.”

Rieke Ringena, Senior Development Director, GLP commented, “Amazon’s expansion at  Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) marks a further step in the site’s successful development as a significant logistics hub. We are glad to be further expanding our successful collaboration with Amazon in this way.”

Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) has sufficient space available for a further 140,000 SQ M of future development.
