GLP announced today a new leasing agreement in Spain with De Rijke, a leading provider of transport, warehousing, global forwarding and supply chain solutions. As part of the agreement the firm will centralise all of its operations in Spain at G-Park Santa Perpetua.

G-Park Santa Perpetua is located in the Vallès Occidental region. Located half an hour from the Catalan capital, the location offers quick access to the AP-7 motorway and the C-59, C-17, and C-33 highways, allowing connections to key routes such as the Mediterranean Corridor. With fast connections to the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona – El Prat international airport, the facility also provides connections to the international transport network.

De Rijke will occupy the entire 14,348 SQM warehouse which includes modern office space for its staff.

The decision to locate to G-Park Santa Perpetua represents a strategic opportunity for De Rijke. This offers a convenient location to merge their warehouse operations and streamline logistics services whilst providing a more agile and effective work environment. The warehouse features 15 loading docks with the building measuring at a height of 11.7 meters.

At G-Park Santa Perpetua De Rijke will benefit from increased storage capacity and a secure parking area. The warehouse will also have a direct impact on job creation and strengthen De Rijke’s workforce in Spain. Their new HQ will provide roles for specialists and professionals working in storage and transportation.

The warehouse was the first BREEAM Excellent-rated building by GLP in Spain. The building features a roof prepared and ready for photovoltaic projects, LED lighting, and a BMS system to monitor the building’s energy consumption.

Óscar Heras, Country Director of GLP Spain commented: “This partnership reinforces our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality logistics solutions and strengthens our position as leaders in the development of logistics warehouses. We are excited to be part of De Rijke’s growth and future success in the region and look forward to further consolidating our presence as a trusted partner in Catalonia and Spain.”

Mike Schreuders, Country Manager of De Rijke, added: “The construction and design of the building’s layout makes it particularly easy to manage and the entire space can be utilised more effectively. At De Rijke Group, we have set a goal to reduce our CO2 emissions by 30% by the year 2030. Therefore, we have integrated a sustainability strategy into the way we conduct our operations. Acquiring a warehouse certified as ‘Excellent’ by BREEAM aligns with De Rijke Group’s values and is in line with our commitment to a more sustainable future.”

The project was built by GSE Group, and De Rijke was advised by Forcadell with BNP Paribas Real Estate representing GLP.
