GLP acquires 39,000 SQM asset in Bleiswijk
GLP, one of the largest investors and developers of logistics warehouses and distribution parks in Europe, today announced that it has acquired a 39,456 SQM warehouse facility in Bleiswijk, The Netherlands, from a local occupier on a sale and leaseback basis. This addition is part of GLP’s plan to further expand its presence in the Netherlands, with the asset currently long-term leased to a local occupier.
Bleiswijk is strategically located in the Netherlands and has a prominent position in the Randstad due to its direct connection to the A12 motorway. From Bleiswijk, major Dutch cities such as Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht are easy to reach. The facility also has an excellent location near the port of Rotterdam, making it ideal for parties in the e-commerce, third-party logistics and supermarket sectors. Furthermore, Bleiswijk offers access to as many as 6.9 million customers within an hour’s drive – the hallmark of an ideal logistics hotspot.
Philippe Hendriks, Country Director Netherlands & Belgium at GLP, commented:
“GLP is making significant progress with its growth in the Netherlands and Europe. We are delighted to increase our exposure in Europe and introduce a new customer to our platform with the acquisition of this highly functional asset. The asset is located in a prime logistics area in the Netherlands which offers connections to key surrounding transport links and fits well with our business strategy to increase exposure to our core European markets.”
