GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has leased the 25,000 SQ M Unit 7 in Magna Park Kassel, Germany, to the ZUFALL logistics group, a longstanding GLP customer.

The facility is centrally located in the heart of Germany and Europe, right on the Kassel-South motorway junction, with its connections to the A7 and A44 motorways, two key arterial traffic routes running north-south and east-west.

The building offers a clear height of 10 metres, more than 25,000 SQ M of warehouse space, a 1,900 SQ M mezzanine area and 680 SQ M of office and communal areas. In addition, it features an 800 SQ M outdoor storage area, 96 car parking spaces and 34 trailer parking spaces on site. The modern hall’s features include 20 dock doors and a high-performance ESFR (Early Suppression Fast Response) sprinkler system.

GLP’s logistics and distribution facilities continue to meet the highest standards of environmentally friendly construction. All the company’s new developments in the German market are built in compliance with the strict sustainability standards of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and are at least DGNB Gold-certified. This sustainable approach allows tenants to reduce energy consumption, CO2 emissions and water usage, and thus operating costs.

Magna Park Kassel was established in 2003 and comprises a total of five units developed by GLP, including Unit 7. It is located in the GVZ Kassel Freight Centre, an industrial park for transport- and logistic-intensive companies. GVZ Kassel offers a first-class infrastructure with a trans-shipment station for combined freight transport, public transport connections, and a truck service area featuring truck service workshops and hotels. ZUFALL logistics group will join renowned companies such as Volkswagen, the Rudolph Logistics Group, SMA Solar Technology, and Radial Fulfilment, as well as numerous parcel services, on site.

Patrick Frank, Country Director Germany, GLP, comments: “The leasing of Unit 7 to our customer ZUFALL logistics group demonstrates our ability to offer sustainable sites in excellent locations to companies in many different regions and thus to expand existing customer relationships. The clear advantage in terms of location, combined with first-class building facilities and functionality, as well as the high priority that we assign to customer service and satisfaction, is highly appreciated by our customers”.

Diana Hohmeister, Senior Asset Manager, GLP, comments: “We are glad to be welcoming ZUFALL to one of our sites as a customer for the fourth time. Unit 7 offers an ideal base for logistics and distribution, because all domestic destinations can be reached from here within five hours”.

GLP was advised by DLA Piper on matters of real estate law in connection with the leasing.
