Going beyond – our commitment to biodiversity
We pride ourselves on our approach to biodiversity. Respectful of the environment, we work with local ecologists to understand the habitat, identify any possible issues and recommend innovative measures to create protected and sensitive environmental places.
We value the importance of healthy ecosystems and take actions to safeguard biodiversity. On our construction sites, we prevent the spread of invasive plant species and limit wildlife traps such as open pipes and temporary holes, ensuring the preservation of local ecosystems.
The landscaping of our sites creates areas of high ecological value. We are planting natural wild flower meadows to replace grass to encourage pollinators and insects. We create wildlife habitats to encourage insect populations, using tree branches for bird boxes, sand for wild bees, installing beehives and creating lakes and ponds to help support the development of local bird populations.
Planting shrubs and trees provide a natural refuge for many animal species and are made up of many local plant species, making them a naturally resilient component of the landscape.
Planting hedges made up of shrubs and trees, creates a dense screen of vegetation, acting as a visual barrier as well as a natural windbreak and refuge for many small animal species such as birds and mammals.
Some spaces are left to nature without any formal planting allowing grassland to evolve which will gradually give way to mature trees after several years.
The vast majority of our landscaping projects incorporate local species to ensure natural integration into the local environment .
We are moving towards open-air management of rainwater with lakes and ponds. This limits the quantity of materials such as pipes that can have a negative environmental impact and allows us to develop areas with high ecological value.
By committing to going beyond regulatory requirements, we are affirming our responsibility to preserve biodiversity and contributing to creating sustainable places to be enjoyed by future generations.
