GLP acquires 31,200 SQM Grade A warehouse in The Netherlands

Amsterdam, 22 March 2022 – GLP, one of the largest investors and developers of logistics warehouses and distribution parks in Europe, today announced that it has acquired a 31,200 SQM Grade A warehouse in The Netherlands. The high-end logistics development, A16 Cargo Center, will be delivered at the beginning of April 2022 on a turnkey basis. A long-term lease has been agreed with Picnic, a Dutch-based European online grocery e-commerce retailer.

A16 Cargo Center is situated in one of the prime logistics sites in The Netherlands at DistriPark Dordrecht, a sustainable logistics business Park located close to the seaports of Rotterdam and Moerdijk. The business park is located on the A16 motorway (Rotterdam-Breda-Antwerp) one of the main logistics routes in the country, providing further connection with the A15 motorway (Maasvlakte-Nijmegen-Ruhr Area), as well as easy accessibility to provincial roads. This location provides an excellent base for both the Randstad and West Brabant, with 1.3 million customers reachable within a 30-minute drive.

A16 Cargo Center is a high-specification building, with a clear height of 12.2 metres, significant office space and 187 parking spaces. The building is BREEAM Excellent rated including sustainability features such as LED lighting, electric vehicle charging points, heat-saving measures and photovoltaic panels to be installed.

Philippe Hendriks, Country Director Netherlands & Belgium at GLP, commented: „The acquisition of this high-specification, modern and sustainable warehouse facility, located in one of the best-connected areas of The Netherlands, is an extremely valuable opportunity for GLP.  Not only does it mark the latest step in our strong expansion in the country but also perfectly fits with GLP’s global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, considering the profile of the business park, the asset and the tenant.”
