One of the largest logistics facilities of its kind in Germany now fully leased

GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, today announces that has leased Units 7 and 8, totalling approximately 33,000 SQ M, of its logistics centre in Monchengladbach, Germany.

“Logistics warehouses in top locations, like our facility in Mönchengladbach in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, are highly sought-after, because the excellent transport connections offer a clear competitive advantage for companies”, says Patrick Frank, Country Director Germany, GLP.

“One of the largest infrastructure facilities of its kind in Germany is now fully leased. And as regards our ESG activities, the property is the site of our first German bee hotel, aimed at promoting local biodiversity”, adds Frank.”Despite the shortage of available land, we offer our clients facilities in prime locations. The fact that a further major company has chosen GLP’s first-class facility in Mönchengladbach underscores the strength of our presence in North Rhine-Westphalia and the attractiveness of our portfolio in the region. The entire site has now been leased on a long-term basis to high-quality clients‚” says Marie-Luise von Knobloch-Keil, Asset Management Director, GLP.

The logistics centre is located in Mönchengladbach’s Regiopark, an inter-communal industrial estate of the City of Mönchengladbach and the community of Jöchen, in direct proximity to the A61 motorway. The Dusseldorf international airport can be reached in around 30 minutes, Cologne Bonn international airport in around 50 minutes and the Mönchengladbach central station in around 20 minutes. The nearby Rhine River provides access to inland waterway transport.

The logistics centre is a large-scale facility. The 208,000 SQ M site has eight units offering a total warehouse space of 134,000 SQ M. Special features include the large number of loading docks on both sides of the building, a total of 136 dock doors and five ground-level entrance doors, as well as a two-story mezzanine area with several freight elevators and a total space of 38,000 SQ M.

Greif & Contzen and BNP Paribas Real Estate were involved in an advisory and intermediary capacity. In addition, GLP was advised by DLA Piper on matters of real estate law in connection with the leasing.
