Modular and scalable robotic solution reduces sorting errors, increases throughput 3x, and improves efficiency and order traceability.

Stradella, July 11, 2023 – Global Robotics Services (GRS),  the robotics company backed by GLP, has been selected as a robotics partner by GXO Logistics, Inc., the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider and a key customer of GLP.  As part of the first phase, GRS has installed 17 sorting robotics coupled with 15 3D robotic arms at a GXO facility in Stradella, located in northern Italy.

GRS is an innovative platform for warehouse operators and businesses that seek to improve the productivity of their operations through robotics. GRS offers a collaborative robotics-as-a -service (RaaS) solution which gives customers access to the benefits of robotics through an innovative subscription model, offering the flexibility of a pay-as-you-go solution, and avoiding significant upfront CAPEX expenditure.

RaaS also provides customers with the ability to scale up and down quickly and easily in response to changing market conditions or seasonal demand such as Christmas or Black Friday. A full package of services including consulting, implementation, maintenance, systems and robotics upgrading can be provided as part of this service.

To date, GRS has completed over 30 robotics projects across Asia, with installations completed in Greater China (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan). The GRS robotic sortation system for GXO in Stradella is the first of its kind in Europe. GRS has plans to scale its robotics sorting solutions and is in the process of bringing more of these capabilities to other warehouses across Europe.

Commenting on the installation Hongming Chen, CEO of Global Robotics Services (GRS) said: This first installation with GXO is a key milestone for GRS in Europe. Robots are becoming ever more present in the warehouse, and we understand the opportunity of automation and the value that can be created by optimising processes through this technology. We have great ambition to scale our business across Europe and we look forward to working with new and existing customers to deploy hundreds more of these 3D sortation systems in the future.”
