GLP, one of the largest investors and developers of logistics warehouses and distribution parks in Europe, announced today that it has acquired a site at Haven Business Park and is developing a Grade A warehouse facility with a total leasable area of 36,000 SQ M in Waalwijk. This addition is part of GLP’s ongoing plan to expand its presence in the Netherlands.

Construction of the new facility, which comprises of two 18,000 SQ M units, began in the first quarter of 2021 with completion anticipated for the first quarter of 2022. The development will have a clear height of 12 M and will be developed to the BREEAM Excellent certification. It will also benefit from sustainability features such as LED lighting and solar panels.

Haven Business Park is strategically located in the logistics heart of the Netherlands, close to the north-south and east-west corridors, in Tilburg and Waalwijk. It has excellent connections with the surrounding transport links towards Breda, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp via the A59, A27, A2, A16 and the Bergse Maas canal that connects it with the port of Moerdijk.

Philippe Hendriks, Country Director Netherlands & Belgium, GLP said: “GLP is committed to growing its footprint in the Netherlands and across Europe. We are delighted that we are able to add yet another high-quality logistics location to our portfolio for our growing customer base. The two warehouse units are located in a prime logistics location in the Netherlands and offer excellent connectivity to both road and waterway networks. With an ongoing shortage of prime logistics assets, we continue to see significant demand for assets of this calibre.”
