Milano, 9th December 2024 – GLP, a leading global business builder, owner, developer, and operator of logistics real estate, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and related technologies, has announced that it has completed the construction of G-Park Landriano near Milan and agreed a lease with new tenant the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, one of the most famous theatres in the world.
The building, which was fully let before completion, was delivered to the tenant at the end of July and will be used as storage for the large sets and numerous costumes of stage performances.
The 17,000 SQM building sits on a 55,000 SQM plot and has been certified as BREEAM Excellent for New Construction, meeting one of the highest standards for sustainability in its design and construction. The development includes parking for over 120 cars and space for 25 trucks.
Landriano is located in Milan’s prime logistics market, with convenient access to the A1 highway, and close proximity to the Lombardy capital.
The building has been designed to support a range of sustainable energy initiatives, including a solar PV-ready roof and electric vehicle charging points. The project also includes energy-saving measures, such as heat-insulated facades and roofing, the use of low-impact refrigerant gases in the air conditioning system, a smart Building Management System, and meters to monitor utility consumption.
Marco Belli, Country Director of GLP Italy commented:
“Our portfolio continues to go from strength to strength. The completion of G-Park Landriano and the signing of such a prestigious new customer with Teatro alla Scala, follows our recent successful leasing of G-Park Valsamoggia, in the province of Bologna.
“Teatro alla Scala’s decision to lease this unit to safely store their complex and intricate sets and costumes is a strong endorsement not just of the quality and convenience of our site but also the versatility of our warehouses. We look forward to playing a small but important role in supporting the future success of one of the most prestigious theaters in the world and an Italian cultural icon.”
