GLP leases 18,000 SQM of logistics facilities in Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel)

LGI leases Unit 3, Movus moves into Unit 6.1      

Frankfurt, 03 March 2022 – GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has leased 18,000 SQM of logistics space in Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) to two top-tier customers. GLP has leased Unit 3 to LGI Logistics Group International GmbH, already a long-standing tenant of Unit 4, and has simultaneously leased Unit 6.1 to Movus Logistics Germany GmbH.

Unit 3 offers a clear height of 10 metres, around 7,000 SQM of warehouse space and 200 SQM of office space. LGI will be expanding its activities in the automotive and industrial sector at the site in the short term, and also plans on significant growth at Magna Park Berlin-Werder in the near future, based on the excellent infrastructure and technical features that the site has to offer.

Unit 6 consists of two warehouse areas of roughly the same size, offering combined warehouse space of around 18,650 SQM, mezzanine space of 2,400 SQM and 1,655 SQM of office and communal areas.

Magna Park is located to the south-west of Berlin, directly on the A10 motorway, the Berlin motorway ring. It thus has a direct connection to the A9 (Berlin-Leipzig) and A24 (Berlin-Hamburg) motorways. Travel time to the A2 (Berlin-Hanover) motorway is only seven minutes. The facility is located 14 kilometres from Potsdam and 30 kilometres from Berlin. It is 157 kilometres from Leipzig, 236 kilometres from Hanover and 280 kilometres from Hamburg.

GLP’s logistics and distribution facilities fulfil high standards for environmentally friendly constructon. All the icompany’s new developments in the German market are built in compliance with the strict sustainability standards of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and are at least DGNB Gold-certified. This sustainable approach allows tenants to reduce energy consumption, CO2 emissions and water usage, and thus operating costs.

GLP was advised by DLA Piper on matters of real estate law in connection with the leasing of Unit 3 in Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) and by Noerr in connection with the leasing of Unit 6. Colliers brokered the leasing contract with Movus in Berlin-Werder.
