Construction of the «smart» logistics park GLP Park Brno Holubice begins
GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has started the construction of a modern logistics centre in the Czech Republic. The GLP Park Brno Holubice project has been given the approval by local authorities to commence development.
GLP Park Brno Holubice will be an environmentally friendly logistics park, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and built in the vicinity of the D1 motorway in the Holubice municipality. The park is scheduled to welcome its first clients in August 2022.
The newly built logistics park will offer its clients 70,000 m² of multi-purpose space suitable for logistics and light manufacturing. Modern office space and employee facilities will also be available. The complex will be built with the highest technical quality and in line with rigorous environmental standards.
The buildings will run with low energy requirements, equipped with modern technologies for energy and water management and air conditioning, and the work areas will be well lit. There will be charging stations for electric vehicles and extensive facilities for employees.
The development will deliver a “smart” building that can adapt to the varying needs of different customers. This could include using the building as a showroom, distribution centre, light industrial production, technological research or as a company’s administrative base. The park’s proximity to Brno will make it a sought-after location for companies.
GLP conceived the entire project as sustainable and environmentally friendly for the neighbouring communities. The landscape will blend in with the surrounding environment and serve as a place for employees to relax. The roofs will be fitted with photovoltaic panels, making a significant contribution to reducing operating costs for the buildings. The rainwater harvesting system will be used to save water across the site including through the plumbing and watering greenery.
Jan Palek, GLP’s director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, commented:“At GLP we seek to ensure that our developments actively enhance the surrounding area. As a developer, helping to improve the infrastructure of the surrounding communities is vital. We are helping the village of Holubice to increase its water supply line capacity and we are also involved in the modernisation of the wastewater treatment plant. We are building a bio-corridor of fruit trees, and we plan to cooperate on other projects as well. We look forward to seeing this sustainable development come to fruition and welcoming customers in due course.”
