Madrid, 30th May 2024 – GLP, a leading global business builder, owner, developer, and operator of logistics real estate, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and related technologies, has begun construction of OAXIS GLP Park Madrid Villaverde, a new logistics park spanning approximately 170,000 SQM in Villaverde Madrid.
Building 1 of this exciting and new logistics park, will offer a leasable area of 26,368 SQM and a clear height of 11.7 meters. The building is divisible into three modules of 9,125, 10,432, and 6,721 SQM.
Scheduled for completion in Q1 2025, Building 1 has been designed to deliver outstanding environmental performance and aims to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification and will be net zero in construction.
The building will benefit from a wide range of services and facilities within the park designed to maintain the environment and enhance the well-being of the workers, staff and guests at the site. These include running tracks, padel tennis courts, bike lanes, and pedestrian paths, as well as an outdoor leisure area and green spaces. The site also benefits from the neighbouring Julio Alguacil Gómez Forest Park, located in Madrid Bosque Verde, in front of the OAXIS park.
Located just 9km from Puerta del Sol and just a few kilometres from Central Madrid in Villaverde, the park has good public transport connectivity as well as direct access to the M-40 and easy connection to the A-42 and A-4 road networks. It is also close to key logistics hubs such as Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport and Mercamadrid. This will be the first logistics park in Spain specifically designed to support distribution by electric vehicles.
